New Clothes and a New Friend

So this weekend our little princess got a whole wardrobe of gently used new clothes including the cute overalls outfit you see above. Once Upon A Child (an awesome place) had a $5 grab bag sale this Saturday ($5 for everything that you could fit in a bag). Our total was $108.00 before the discounted sales price of $5.37. So we now have tons of new clothes (it's a good thing Mommy likes to place dress up).

We also welcomed into the world her first friend that she is older than, Miss Alison Paige, who weighed in at 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. Welcome to the world Allie!

Welcome Home Mommy

This is what I got when I got Zoe home tonight after my first day back at work. How am I going to leave her tomorrow?

Our Dr. Doolittle

Zoe is nine weeks old now. She likes to talk to her friends Penny the Penguin (thank you Uncle Josh) and Mr. Ribbits (thank you Jolene and Alex). Mr. Ribbits sings and dances to her (which she loves) Penny just sits there (I don't know what sound a penguin makes).

2 Months Old

Zoe is two months old today. It seems like such a short time. We didn't really do a lot today, in fact we just stayed at home and caught up on our sleep, I think I am catching the cold that she has had.

A Bittersweet Valentine's Day

My father died early this morning. I wish I could think of something insightful to say but there is really not too much to say about it I guess. It's funny that I have been quick to jump at the phone everytime it rings in the last week but in the final hour when I should have been there, I didn't hear the phone at all. I guess the guilt will be with me for a while.

Zoe got to wear her new Georgia Bulldogs outfit (courtesy of Aunt Beth and Uncle Josh) and her Valentine's Day bib and rattle bracelet (courtesy of Grandma). She looks so darn cute, it's hard to remain sad when you look at her happy little face.

Quiet Time in the Bush Household

So between going to the hospital and my siblings coming into town we were able to have some quiet time this weekend since Josh and Beth went to Atlanta for the weekend. I just thought that my family was so cute curled up on the couch on Saturday morning I had to take some pictures.

Letting Go

I took my dad off of the life support tonight and they say that it is just a matter of time now. It's hard to let go when you have a new life just beginning and the pieces of your old life just keep slipping away.

On the upside my brother got to come in from Iraq to see my dad and was able to be there when the brought him in from Gainesville. He has also never met his niece so it has been a nice diversion to think about the two of the getting to know one another.

Coming Home

We are getting my dad transferred back to Tallahassee today. Last night we went and picked up some Gator wear for the munchkin (along with some bibs and socks, thanks Aunt Beth!) Check out how good she looks reppin' the best team on the planet!

Trip to Gainesville

My dad has to go to Shands so Zoe, my sister and I are going to Gainesville to be there with him. Please pray for my dad and my family as this is looking like it is going to be way more serious than the flu we thought he had.

On the plus side, my sister has never seen the baby so they will get some bonding time in while we are gone.

Going to Grandma's

My dad is sick and I need to take him to the doctor today so I asked Thomas's mom to take Zoe for the morning until he gets up. Grandma was super excited and Zoe was in a pretty good mood about it too. They should have plenty of bottles, I hope this goes smoothly!

Father Daughter Dance

Thomas, Zoe and I went to the Father Daughter Dance hosted by the Rotary at the National Guard Armory last night. I bought her a special dress for the occasion. Zoe slept through a lot of it but she and Thomas did dance for a while. Zoe was the youngest one there at 7 weeks old, which made the Tallahassee Democrat take special attention. You can see their picture here: http://www.tallahassee.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Site=CD&Date=20080202&Category=PHOTOS03&ArtNo=802020806&Ref=PH&Params=Itemnr=3

Easter Kittens

Some people have Easter chickens, I have Easter kittens. They were born last night and will be ready for adoption at Easter. Perhaps someone you know and love needs a new kitten in their life? We are the family for you. Zoe doesn't really care about the kittens but the dog wants to know what's up.

New Sleeping Gear

Wendy (the best boss ever!) made this great sleeping sack for Zoe. It is made from the same material that my boppy pillow and nursery curtains are made out of and is super cozy for Zoe to sleep in.
