After 9 months of eager anticipation, 15 hours of labor and a c-section, the Hubs and I greeted our healthy, beautiful baby girl into the world on December 17, 2007 at 10:48 PM.
At a whopping 9 pounds 3 ounces, she was the largest baby in the nursery that week. Her Apgar scores were all high (8 and 9 respectively) and she has her daddy's blood type, B+ as well as his ears.
With her head full of dark brown hair and piecing blue eyes she was also the most sought after newborn on the post-partum floor. Nurses from labor and delivery and the nursery were all coming to see the "most beautiful baby in the world". Grandparents of other babies were catching us in the hall to remark on how "stunning" our child was.
How proud her own grandparents were! Her grandma was smitten for our little Supergirl from the moment that she heard her first cry. I am glad that she had her there for the three hours that it took for them to weigh, measure and test her that Thomas and I could not be there for. What a blessing she has in her Grandma.
I hope to continue to keep up the posts on this blog as a gift to our family that lives out of town as well as a record for Supergirl to have in the future. I will repost again soon.
